  • Great study Bible for iBooks

    With the limitations that iBooks has as an app, Crossway & the ESV Study Bible have found a way to be very useful and bring a book that can be navigated easily. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to click on cross-references and quickly go and read. (And for that matter easily go back) The study bible links are also helpful, so that the reading is not hindered by too much on the page. I have been pleased with this study bible and the products from Crossway.

    Navigation has alway been an issue. Especially when trying it on a page not on the main menu. No way to get to a specific word in the concordance. Way to much money for an inferior product.

    I love being able to have access to a digital bible with all the cross references and footnotes of the ESV study bible, that which aren’t available in YouVerison. It’s incredible to click the cross reference scripture to see it instead of hunting for it and then be able to bounce back to my original place. Thanks so much!

    This Bible has not worked properly since I down loaded it. I can only get to the first page of chapter one of each book of the Bible. The iTunes store indicates that there is an update published Oct 1, 2013 but I do not see how to down load it. This was not an inexpensive book, I should think someone would be trying to fix this so we can use it. It makes me wonder if I should try any other expensive books

    Unfortunately, the only study material I found myself working through was the users guide.. As someone else stated, you get the first page for the book reference material, but can't access the other pages. They did say it might take a few moments to index the study material.. But, it's not working... :(

    The table of contents shows up, but when you want to go to a specific chapter, or any page after the first page of a book, you just can't. There seems to be only 957 pages on it, which of course on ePub is not the whole bible. Hebrews 4 doesn't exist, nor any chapter of any book after the first chapter. So John 3, Philemon 2, genesis 42, or anything that doesn't have a 1 next to it is just gone. Its better to just download the sample and get all the same features but for free. To pay for this would be worthless if your version is as bad as mine.
  • Barely adequate navigation - for a Bible

    As an e-pub, as a digital rendering of the Bible, this is barely adequate. The ability to navigate to a specific passage is non-existent. To get to Hebrews ch 4 (much less Heb 4:14), you access the Table of Contents function, then scroll through all of the study features (numerous downward swipes/screens) to finally find the list of the books of Scripture, then scroll through the 57 books of the bible to finally get to Hebrews. Tap Hebrew, then tap the chapter 4 entry on the "Hebrews Tables of Contents." There is no top-level function to quickly get to a specific section or passage in Scripture. This greatly limit's the functionality of this e-pub. This is not a Bible that you will use to look up or check Bible references while doing any other form of reading or studying. This is structured for sustained sequential reading of either the study articles or the actual text of Scripture (which is a good thing). The free ESV app is better suited to accessing a specific place within the Bible.
